Fic: Right Thing To Say
At this point, I think we all know who I'm writing and what the rating is, yeah? I'm so tired of that little form. Amy's still domme-ing River, Rory is mentioned, nobody under 18 allowed, yada.

Still BDSM, blood/wound kink on the warnings.

This is a continuation of As I Love You. A little fluffier and cuter, because Amy really does love being sweet to River more than torturing her.

They dozed together for a time, River feeling safe and comforted in Amy's embrace. Amy still loved her and that, as far as she was concerned, was all that mattered.

Amy studied River's face as she slept. There was no way of telling how old her lover really was. How long she'd lived before the Mels incarnation...how long she'd lived after Berlin. But the lines on her face that couldn't smooth out in sleep spoke of trauma, stress, loss. River was a horribly sad person, Amy realized. More sad than she'd ever truly thought about before. She had so many secrets and yet could only speak a few of them, and even then most of them had to be lived by those she wished to tell first. And I just abused her, pretty much. Oh, my River. I'm so sorry. I love you.

River swam easily out of sleep, realizing she was being watched. "Good morning, my love."

"Can you still love me after that, dear?"

River opened her eyes. "Why wouldn't I? We both needed it."

"But I hurt you." Amy lifted one of River's hands up, looking at the injured wrist.

"Oh, sweetie. You know I don't mind that sort of thing. I like it when it's done well. And you do it very well."

"I don't think you needed me to abuse you."

"Abuse implies I didn't want or didn't let you do it. Amy, my beautiful Amy, I'd let you do it again now if you wanted."

"You need me to be your light, River, not add to your darkness."

"My reward waited for me. That's my light. My light is always hoping the love is still there."

"It will always be."

"You're too good to me."

Amy shook her head slightly. "I can't not love you now. We're in too deep."

River nuzzled in closer. "I'm sorry."

"I don't care anymore."

"Where is Rory?"

"Hospital. 24-hour on-call shift. That's why we're here and not in the TARDIS. Doctor's got to bring us back for these, not enough nurses, really. He agrees."

"I did wonder, but if my vortex manipulator can bring me to Leadworth when you are here, then it does."

Amy smiled. "Then I love being home. Besides catching up on sleep, that is."

"You're wonderful, Amy."

Amy's response was to pick up River's hand again and carefully kiss the wound on the inside of her wrist.

River sighed. "Oh, my love. You'll drive me crazy before you know."

Amy kissed the wrist again in a slightly different spot. "Making it better? Or does this hurt in a good way?"

"Most things hurt in a good way to me," said River. "I've learnt to deal that way. But with you, it's both."

Amy laid another kiss on River's wrist. "I caused them, I'll kiss them better."

River shifted and pulled one of Amy's legs between hers. "Right thing to say, my love."

Amy's tongue darted out to just slightly lick a deeper scrape, and River moaned in response. Amy laughed silently and kept kissing slowly around the injured wrist, keeping it light and ticklish so as not to greatly disturb any healing.

River nuzzled into Amy's neck while rocking her hips against the leg she'd trapped, kissing Amy's skin when she could think of it. The teasing was indeed driving her crazy, but in the best way.

"How can just this make you so ready for me?" Amy returned to the inside of River's wrist, very gently nipping the unbroken skin with her teeth.

"I burn for you," whispered River.

"You poor thing, I wish you could travel with us...I'd never leave you alone."

"Timelines are complicated. But oh, it would be lovely in the TARDIS..." River trailed off, a ragged edge just barely audible in her voice.

"My perfect little toy, is something wrong?" Amy's tone was no longer domineering or possessive, simply concerned and loving. She kept teasing the inside of River's wrist, watching the sensitive skin turn pink.

"No, love...not at all. You're playing with me, that's enough." River tried to keep her tone from quavering.

Amy looked at her, gaze mild and steady. River licked her lips instinctively. "Yes," said Amy softly, winding River's arm back around her waist to kiss her properly, lovingly.

River melted right then and there. Amy's seduction was a mix of matter-of-fact and sensual, a combination not too many could pull off successfully. Yet River had spent years waiting, burning, and rendering herself helpless against Amy in any form; she would have been happy regardless. They fit together perfectly to River's way of thinking, and she could trust Amy with her full submissiveness. As far as she was concerned, Amy was her true love, thought River. And hell be damned if there could be any other way of thinking now.

Amy felt River relax in her arms and pulled her closer, staking her claim yet again to the wonderful, mysterious time-traveller she'd fallen in love with. She'd meant to keep it all away, the emotions. Time and emotions were dangerous things to play with. And no matter what that madman in the bowtie still thought, she'd only wanted to go out with a bang before she was properly married, it had all been in the name of good fun. She hadn't meant to fall in love with River. It really wasn't her fault that the first time they'd met each other, she'd been running from her wedding...or was it? Come to think of it, perhaps that was why she'd tried to jump the Doctor--she had been imagining a rich laugh, beautiful lips, and...handcuffs...oh god, was it really? Too complicated, she'll sense you, thought Amy, and turned her attention back to trying to catch River's bottom lip between her teeth in just the right way that made her shiver and gasp into Amy's mouth. You really do like it rough, don't you, dear?

River tried not to whimper as Amy bit her lip gently, just rocked her hips against the thigh that was closer now, but still not brushing against her need. Amy, you drive me mad... She sank her free hand into Amy's hair, trying to kiss harder, edge closer, get Amy to give her what she wanted.

Amy broke away. "Careful, love, I'll tie you up again if you keep being bad." Her tone was teasing.

"Oh, if you would..." River smiled. "Maybe I like pushing my boundaries."

"What boundaries? You're mine, you wish to prove it, you'll do as I say, that's all," countered Amy, beginning to finally slip River's dress off her.

River wriggled helpfully, the dress sliding off her frame. "You didn't say not to kiss you back."

"But neither did I say to," said Amy. "Take off your shoes, I can't believe you still have them on."

River sat up and unbuckled her shoes, dropping them and the dress off the side of the bed. "Done."

Amy propped herself up on her elbow. "You are gorgeous, River."

"All yours, sweetie."

"You're rather insubordinate, though."

River's eyes sparkled. She put her wrists together and held them out to Amy.

Amy laughed and shook her head slightly. "And impossible. Maybe if you're really good, I'll tie you up again."

"Right thing to say, my love."

"Get over here and show me what I was missing when you were chained up. Prove to me I was wrong to leave you there."

River pounced her a second later.

D'Awwww I love it. Also, I'm working on a River/Amy thing, just trying to figure out when to fit it in.

I love them. I think they actually work better in my mind now, as a technically incestuous pairing (although REALLY how much DNA do they honestly share after all those regenerations?) than they did before.
